How to Make a Claim

Please notify our Claims Department within 21 days of the incident that gives rise to a claim.

How do I make a claim for Home Content?

Please notify our Claims Department as soon as possible, but no later than:

2 days for theft due to break-in, fire, malicious damage or vandalism, and
30 days for any other incidents.

If I'm a tenant, what does ECICS Home Contents insurance cover?

ECICS Home Contents Insurance covers the personal belongings you own within the residential premises you’re renting. It also extends to cover your legal liability as a tenant for any loss or damage caused to the rented property.

I already bought HDB fire insurance, do I still need Home Contents insurance?

The compulsory HDB fire insurance covers only the building structure, fixtures and fittings provided by HDB or its approved developers. It does not cover home contents such as furniture, renovations and personal belongings.

Are my valuables covered under ECICS Home Contents insurance?

Yes, valuables such as jewellery, watches, works of art, and antiques are covered up to 35% of your contents sum insured per policy year, subject to a limit of $2,000 per item. Cash is covered up to $1,000 per policy year.

Who can buy ECICS Home Contents insurance?

The owner/co-owner or tenant/co-tenant of the residential premises.
