How to Make a Claim

Please notify our Claims Department within 21 days of the incident that gives rise to a claim.

Our claims team will review and get in touch if clarification or further documentation is needed.

What to Prepare

To help us assess your claim, please prepare the following documents (where applicable):
Medical Certificate (MC)
Completed ECICS Personal Accident Claim Form
Medical report and/or hospital discharge summary
Original medical bills and receipts
Police report
(for accidents or serious injury)
Death certificate
(for fatal claims)
NRIC/Passport copy of claimant and insured person
Additional documents
(may be requested based on the nature of the claim)

Does the policy cover extreme sports?

Climbing, mountaineering, racing or motor rallies, speed testing, speed contest, underwater activities involving the use of underwater breathing apparatus (including but not limited to diving), martial arts, parachuting and other extreme sports which involve one of the following elements of speed, height, a high level of physical exertion or specialized gear are not covered.

Are there any excluded occupations?

Yes, the following occupations or activities are excluded: - Pilots, aircrew or any occupation involving aviation activities - Full-time military personnel - Police force personnel - Fire fighters - Construction / unskilled workers - Ship crew or workers on board vessels, oil and gas rig workers, offshore workers, stevedores, shipbreakers - Welding - Professional sports teams - Work involving height (exceeding 30 feet above ground or floor level) and/or works underground and/or travel beyond normal speed on land and/or handling of hazardous chemical / electricity - Use of Woodworking tools and machineries - Professional divers and jockeys - Crane Operators

What if my job falls in between Class 1 and Class 2?

Always select the higher risk occupation class if your job falls between two classes. This ensures you remain fully covered and avoids issues during claims assessment.

Do I have to go for a medical checkup before applying for ECICS Personal Accident insurance policy?

No, you do not need to go for a medical checkup but you will need to declare that you are in good health and free from physical or mental defect or infirmity or disease.

What is the definition of 'Child' under the family plan?

The natural child, legal step-child, legally adopted child or ward of the Policyholder who is age above one (1) month old and under twenty-one (21) years as at the time of the application for the Policy if the Insured Person was not enrolled in a tertiary institution as at that time. If the Insured Person was enrolled in a tertiary institution as at the time of the application for the Policy, he or she must be of an Age under twenty-five (25) years as at that time. The Insured Person must be unmarried as at the time of the application for the Policy and remains unmarried throughout the Period of Insurance.
