6ME (Six-Monthly Medical Examination) is a mandatory health screening that employers must arrange for their helpers (Migrant Domestic Worker) every 6 months. The examination screens for pregnancy and infectious diseases such as syphilis, HIV, and tuberculosis to safeguard public health and ensure workers remain fit for employment.
Employer Responsibilities:
- Ensure 6ME is conducted by a Singapore-registered doctor
- Pay for the 6ME and any medical expenses arising from it
- Check the MOM 6ME letter for the required tests and make sure the check-ups are completed before the due date
