A No-Claim Discount (‘NCD’) is an entitlement given to you if no claim has been made under your policy for a year or more with the current/existing insurer. It reduces the premium you have to pay for the following year. This is your insurer's way of recognising and rewarding you for having been a careful driver. There is a standard followed by all insurers in setting the NCD, depending on your type of vehicle (private, commercial or motorcycle) and the period of insurance with no claim. The following table shows how the NCD is set by all insurers across the industry. Yes, ECICS Motor Excess Protector Insurance covers Named Driver, Unnamed Driver or Young, Inexperienced or Elderly Excess. It does not cover excess for windscreen, sunroof or moonroof.

Here's how you can determine the effective date based on each situation:For New FDW:The policy's effective date should be the date your FDW arrives in Singapore. This ensures that insurance coverage begins when the FDW starts her employment duties upon arrival in the country.For Transferred FDW:The policy's effective date should be the day you wish to apply for the issuance of her work permit at MOM. This ensures that insurance coverage is in place when the FDW's work permit is processed and approved for transfer to your employment.For Renewal FDW:The policy's effective date should be one day after the current work permit's expiry date. This ensures that insurance coverage seamlessly continues without any gaps when renewing the FDW's work permit for continued employment.
The coverage period for our Enhanced MaidAssure is 14 months or 26 months with the additional 2 months included as mandated by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) in case the FDW overstays in Singapore after her work permit expires.

These workshops are not under ECICS Limited authorised partners and we have no control over the repair quality. If the repair is poorly done, we will not be able to assist you should issues arise. Furthermore, the claim cost may be inflated, resulting in higher premium in your next renewal.
You will not be entitled to a cancellation refund if there is a claim made under your Private Motor Car insurance policy.
Under the Motor Claims Framework (MCF), in any accident regardless how minor it was, it is a requirement that an accident report be lodged in any of our Approved Reporting Centres within 24 hours or by the next working day. Your insurer will do the necessary and review the matter upon receiving the signed Private Settlement form.
If you sell your private car, you may inform us to cancel your policy. You can submit the request at customerservice@ecics.com.sg or call our mainline at +65 6206 5588 (Mon - Fri excluding Public Holiday, 8:30am - 6:00pm). Your Private Car policy refund is calculated according to the cancellation clause in your policy wording subject to no claims made against your policy.
Yes, it is illegal to use a vehicle in Singapore without a valid insurance cover. At a minimum, you must have third-party insurance, which covers injury or damage caused to other people and their property.
We have 3 plans to suit your needs. The Comprehensive plan covers loss or damage to your motorcycle, as well as third party liability for bodily injury and property damage.
All riders need to be named in the policy. Unnamed riders are not covered.
Yes, ECICS motorcycle insurance policy comes with complimentary No Claim Discount Protector. It is free for our customers as long as you have NCD 10% and above.
We do not cover usage for food, parcel or other delivery services.
