Is there any coverage for Outpatient Medical Expenses (For Illness)?

Yes, we offer it as an optional add-on that covers outpatient medical expenses for illness that does not require hospitalisation. This benefit can cover up to $60 per visit, helping to ensure your FDW’s health needs are taken care of without added financial strain.

As an employer, is there a way to limit my liability on the $5,000 Security Bond?

Yes, you can. We offer Waiver of Counter Indemnity as an optional add-on. With this, your liability on the $5,000 Security Bond is capped at $250, and the insurer covers the rest if the bond conditions are breached. However, this does not apply to any breach of bond conditions due to your negligence or fault.

Can I make amendments to the policy after I’ve purchased the insurance?

Certain amendments (e.g., typo error in name or passport number or change in effective date) can be made before the policy effective date. However, a re-transmission to MOM may be required depending on the type of amendment.

What is the difference between Outpatient Medical Expenses (For Accident) and Hospital & Surgical Expenses?

• Outpatient Medical Expenses (For Accident) cover medical bills for outpatient treatments that arise solely from Accident. For example, your FDW accidentally scalds her hand while cooking and requires dressing for the burn.• Hospital & Surgical Expenses cover inpatient medical bills for treatments related to both accidents and illnesses.

Yes, the policy will need to be cancelled, and a replacement policy issued.

If I have 2 policies (2 vehicles) insured with ECICS and bought Family NCD plans with a member appearing in both policies. What will happen if one of the policy experiences an accident claim by the Family NCD member (named driver)?

The policy that experiences the accident claim will have the entire group of Family NCD members' (named drivers) Family-NCD reduced according to the GIA NCD framework (https://gia.org.sg/). We believe that promoting safe driving is a family affair. However, the other policy with us will not be affected, all earned Family-NCDs in that policy will remain intact.

You should remember to take note on the following (if the traffic condition permits):Take photos and videos of the accident scene, surrounding areas, damaged property and the damages of the vehicles involved together with their license plate numbers.Exchange particulars with all drivers involved in the accident.Actual road name and any prominent landmarks. If possible, take down the particulars of all injured persons and note the extent of the injuries sustained.

Can I claim against a foreign registered motorist?

It is advisable to make a claim on your own insurance policy. Making a claim against motorists from another country can turn out to be costly and time-consuming. If you are not at fault, your NCD will not be affected.

Will I lose my NCD if there is a break in ownership of my vehicle?

Most insurers in Singapore will allow you to keep your NCD should there be a break in vehicle ownership for up to 24 months. Some insurers set the timeframe at 12 months. You should contact your insurer for details.

Why is it important to make an accident report?

The accident report will provide us with the necessary information should there be any claims made against you for the accident. Failure to report the accident may result in you handling and settling any claims on your own.
